History

First Equipment Company has provided value-based flexible computer leasing and technology solutions in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area since the mid-1970’s. We have built a solid reputation in the Dallas business community by providing companies, whether big or small, with leasing and hardware sales that help them grow and prosper. Here are some of our firsts in our proud history:  

October 14, 1975

First Equipment Company (FEC) was founded

1977

Mr. Herbert (Pete) Arnold III purchased controlling interest in FEC and moved the company to Dallas, TX from Oklahoma City. FEC’s business focus shifted to developing its own portfolio of equipment leases.

1986

FEC purchased entire equipment portfolio of TCS Leasing and QualiLease, Ltd.

1990 – 1991

FEC moved into its current location in Addison, TX - a combination office and warehouse space large enough to accommodate an expanding company

1992 & 1993

The CEO Institute and the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at SMU, names FEC one of the top 100 fastest growing companies in the Dallas Metroplex, two years in a row.

1992

FEC establishes First Equipment Company Remarketing Group, Inc. (RGI) to provide additional funding for its sales department – revenues for FEC grows to over $21 million.

1994

FEC begins a long-term growth plan by establishing FECTC’s repair and technical services – now called First Technical Services.

2004

Susan M. Arnold appointed President of First Equipment Company

2005

FEC certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise under the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)

2009

FEC implements a Results Only Work Environment for employees

2010

First Equipment Company celebrates its 35th Anniversary of proudly serving its customers in Dallas/Ft. Worth and nationwide
